The London Majors are one of the most historic and successful baseball teams in the Intercounty Baseball League. With a passionate fan base, a strong digital presence, and a growing media operation, we’re continuing to elevate how fans experience Majors baseball, both at the park and online.


Position Overview

The Media Relations Assistant will work directly with the team’s Media Relations Manager to support and enhance the Majors’ communications, broadcast, and digital content strategy. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for sports, media, and storytelling who is eager to gain hands-on experience in all facets of media relations, from social media and live broadcast production to content creation and public communications.

Key Responsibilities

General Duties

  • Assist in managing MajorsTV broadcasts, including scheduling broadcast team members and ensuring all positions are filled.

  • Work closely with ownership on matters such as game cancellations, player signings, and official announcements.

  • Help recruit, organize, and coordinate members of the broadcast, photography, videography, and social media teams.

  • Coordinate uniforms, credentials, and logistics for members of the media team.

  • Communicate with visiting and home teams to obtain lineups and necessary game information for broadcasts.

  • Collaborate with the social media team during the season to develop engaging content and assist with content planning during the offseason.

  • Work with graphic designers to produce creative materials and ensure timely posting across social platforms.

  • Uphold and enforce brand guidelines across all media and communications channels to maintain a consistent and professional image.

Off-Season Responsibilities

  • Recruit and onboard new broadcast and media team members to fill upcoming needs.

  • Collaborate with the graphics and content teams to complete design, social, and broadcast-related projects for both internal and external use.

  • Analyze social media and broadcast performance, identifying areas for growth and innovation.

  • Develop new social media ideas and campaigns for the next season.

  • Create a schedule for the broadcast and media team ahead of the season.

  • Assist in maintaining and updating the London Majors website with news, team information, and media materials.

In-Season Responsibilities

  • Work with videographers to capture highlights, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content.

  • Manage the graphics team to ensure timely creation of in-game and post-game content.

  • Publish game recaps and maintain current content on the team’s website.

  • Assist in MajorsTV broadcast operations, addressing technical or staffing issues as they arise.

  • Assist with social media posting and live game updates when needed.

  • Communicate event schedules, rainouts, and reschedules with the digital and broadcast teams.

Qualifications
  • Strong interest in sports communications, media production, and digital content.

  • Excellent organization, multitasking, and communication skills.

  • Experience or interest in broadcasting, photography, or social media management.

  • Basic familiarity with graphic design or editing tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) is an asset.

  • Availability for home games, select road games, and team events throughout the season.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during the season.
