After 42 games, the Intercounty Baseball League season is over, and the playoffs are about to begin. The London Majors will welcome the Guelph Royals to Labatt Memorial Park Friday night for the first game of a Best of Five first-round playoff series. London lost their final game of the 2025 season to the Barrie Baycats by a score of 8-4. The two teams finished in a second-place tie with identical 24-18 records. That is the second-best record in the league this season.

London started Victor Payano on the mound for six innings, striking out eight, which gave him 113 Ks on the season. Ryan Beitel and Colby Ring each pitched one inning of relief. The Baycats used two of their top starting pitchers in the game this afternoon to tune up for the playoffs. Juan Benitez went seven innings to pick up his sixth win of the season. Frank Garces pitched the final two innings for Barrie and earned his first save of the 2025 season.

London had seven hits from six different players. Ken Suji had two singles and one RBI. Byron Reichstein had a two-run cannon shot in the third inning that brought home himself and Francisco Fajardo, who had led off the inning with a single. Tucker Zdunich, Ty Mosher and Brad Verhoeven all had a two-bagger in the game.

Playoffs start Friday, August 22nd, with the Guelph Royals coming to Labatt Memorial Park for a 7:35 start.
