Ruiz Returns To Pinstripes

The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of outfielder Humberto Ruiz who returns to pinstripes for the first time since 2017.

The London resident had a successful venture with the Majors from 2014-2017 when he had a career average of .279, 38 RBI and 43 stolen bases. Ruiz also took part in the Legacy Classic in 2020 and went 1 for 5 while showing his speed on the bases and in the outfield making a couple of running catches.

“When I arrived in Canada I thought that playing baseball was over for me, that's when I found the London Majors and I met Roop and my life shined again, every year I look forward to the summer to share with the great family that we are the Majors. Thank you Roop for trusting me and giving me the opportunity”

Bringing back Humberto, Co-Owner, Manager and General Manager Roop Chanderdat was asked about what he brings to the 2020 roster, “I am very happy to have Humberto back with the Majors.  Humberto is a very hard-working guy who is always trying to improve his craft.  He is a good contact hitter that gets on base and brings a lot of speed to our line-up.”

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
