Pitching and Home Runs the Difference vs Royals

The Majors continued their dominant season with 2 home runs and 7 plus innings from Jose Arias in a 6-2 victory over the Guelph Royals.

Taylor Wright continued his incredible start to his IBL career scoring for the Majors in the bottom of the 2nd inning with a single to right field scoring both Robert Mullen and Starling Joseph to give the Majors an early 2-0 lead. One of the home runs for the Majors came in the 4th inning from a more unlikely source in Keith Kandel as he shot an opposite field liner on a ball that carried over the right fielder's head and over the fence for his second home run this season. With a little small ball action in the 6th inning as both Gibson Krzeminski and Chris McQueen singled to left field, driving in a run each. Cleveland Brownlee continued his incredible start in his 13th IBL season as he hit his 7th home run of the season, adding to the Majors’ lead.

Between Arias and Braeden Ferrington, the Majors pitching would strike out the Royals for an incredible 12 times while only facing 35 batters. Arias refused to allow the Royals to get any momentum in this game as even after one of their 5 hits, the Dominican would come back and record an out right away, including a few ground outs to first, helping record the out.

The Majors are back in action tomorrow as they travel to Guelph to take on the Royals but return home for Father’s Day - Pack the Park game vs the Barrie Baycats. Tickets for Pack the Park are available online at www.packthepark.ca

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
