Owen Boon Returns to Majors Rotation

LONDON – The London Majors, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) today announced the re-signing of right-handed pitcher Owen Boon for the 2019 season.

Boon, a London native, returns for his fifth season with the Majors. During his 2018 campaign, Boon recorded a 2-0 record with a 3.22 ERA, thirty-four strikeouts and twelve walks over eight games.

Suiting up for the Trois-Rivieres Aigles of the Can-Am League during he early part of the season, Owen recorded nine strikeouts and nine walks over thirteen innings pitched.

"Last year left a bad taste in our mouth” said Boon. “Immediately following the conclusion of last season Roop made it clear that acquiring talent does not result in winning. The depth of the IBL has encouragingly grown in the last couple of years making the level of competition higher. Based on the effort and response I have seen so far from our team this offseason I am excited at the possibilities for this year. The goal is always to win, but this year we are going to focus on how we as a team can win games together in all areas by executing our jobs as individual players and by preparing to do so with hard work and focus.”
