The London Majors are happy to announce the signing of DH Cleveland Brownlee
Originally from Atlanta Georgia, this will be Brownlee's 11th season with the club after joining in 2010. He has become one of the most respected players on and off the field. Cleveland not only continues to have success in the field hitting the long home runs into the Thames River but he also has been inspirational for our community as he was the keynote speaker in 2020 for the London Police Service Lewis Coray Trailblazer Awards. He also continues to be a part of the Rookie Ball partnership with London Police and the Majors organization.
The longest active player on the Majors roster was asked why he wanted to continue his legacy and add to his all-time home run record and his answer was nothing short of what teammates and fan would expect from a truly humbled man, “I am thankful Roop has allowed me to continue to play the game I love and a chance for my son to see me run on the field”
Co-Owner, Manager and General Manager Roop Chanderdat had nothing but positive remarks when asked about Brownlee, “Cleveland is a great ambassador for both the London Majors and the IBL. He is a true gentleman and it is an honour to coach him. It has been great to see Cleveland’s growth both as a ballplayer and a man and he is very deserving of all the great accomplishments he has achieved.”
The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
