McQueen Rejoins Majors

LONDON - The London Majors are happy to announce the signing of Infielder/Outfielder Chris Mcqueen

McQueen, a London native joins the team for his 5th season after taking the 2019 season off. Bringing his career 80 stolen bases to a dynamic lineup will add to potential possibilities of scoring runs, but his speed increases the team’s defensive strength. A career .382 average brings a consistent bat as well to a very powerful lineup.

Chris could not stop raving about his return to the Majors this season “What I love about playing for London is the ability to challenge myself and master my craft while showcasing the abilities that I have with the incredibly loyal fan base that surrounds us. There truly is no better feeling than suiting up for your hometown team, it will always have a special place in my heart. Playing for Roop is something I always look forward to because he challenges you to be more than a better ball player but a better individual on and off the field. These values translate into life and those are lessons that I will forever be grateful for and carry with me for a very long time.”

Co-Owner, Manager and General Manager Roop Chanderdat was asked about the return of a talented player like Chris who brings a fading art in baseball in speed on the bases “It’s great to have Chris back with the Majors. Chris is a very fast player and this helps him both on the bases and in the field defensively get to balls.  He is versatile and can play middle infield and also centerfield.  With his strong work ethic and leadership, he will be a good addition to our team.”

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
