Maple Leafs tie the series up

In a return to Toronto for the 4th time this season and 1st in the playoffs, it was an important game for both teams. The Maple Leafs were able to get a game 2 victory with a 9-6 win.

Byron Reichstein started things off for the Majors with a 2-run home run in the second inning before Jakob Newton added on to the Majors’ runs with a triple in the third, scoring Keith Kandel. Cleveland Brownlee continued hitting well in these two games as he had a 2-run double in the 5th. Unfortunately, the Majors’ were silenced until the top of the 9th when Gibson Krzeminski came off the bench to bring the Majors within 3 but would leave the bases loaded.

Pedro De Los Santos would only able to go 4 innings allowing 6 runs while striking out 4 and walking 5. Daniel Gore came into the game and was productive out of the bullpen going 4 innings allowing 2 earned runs while striking out 4 and walking 1.

The series shifts to London for game 3 at Labatt Park on Friday night. Tickets for Friday night can be purchased online at londonmajors.com.

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
