Majors win on walk-off walk

LONDON – Mike Ambrose scored on a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 10th to give the London Majors a 4-3 win over the Welland Jackfish Sunday afternoon at Labatt Park.
Cleveland Brownlee hit a two-run home run in the first inning, and Carlos Arteaga doubled home Steve Froese in the eighth to tie the game.
Jon Fitzsimmons (1-0) went 2.1 scoreless innings for the win, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out four. Juliandry Higuera started and gave up three runs on eight hits in 7.2 innings. He walked four and struck out five.
London is back at .500 with a 10-10 record.
Brendan Nicholson had two hits, two RBI and a run for the Jackfish (9-8). Brendon Dadson and Wilson Soriano had two hits apiece, and Nolan Pettipiece singled and scored.
Chris Boatto (0-2) took the loss despite not allowing a hit in 1.2 innings. Boatta was hurt by three walks and a pair of errors – two of which came in the 10th.
Christian Young started and went seven innings, giving up two runs on two hits with six strikeouts.
