Majors stay hot winning 3 straight

In what was the first busy weekend of the season, the Majors looked to complete a sweep after taking victories from Brantford and Barrie (Friday/Saturday) already. The Majors kicked things off by receiving their 2022 Championship rings before completing an 11-0 win over the Red Sox.

The Majors wasted no time in this contest as Eduardo De Oleo started things with a 3-run home run after Tommy Reyes Cruz and Byron Reichstein got on base. Cleveland Brownlee continued his list of baseballs hit into the Thames River as he also crushed a solo home run to give the Majors a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Jaryd Lund who made his 2nd appearance season and 1st start would pitch 6 innings while not giving up any runs and striking out 6 while limiting his walks to just one.

This season the Majors have been limited to innings where they needed runs and were not able to build off their defensive success, today was different for the team as they were only scoreless in 3 innings. Dan Battel, Starling Joseph, Byron Reichstein, Cleveland Brownlee, Brad VerHoven and De Oleo finished the day with RBIs.

After Lund was able to finish off his 6 innings, Skylar Jannisse would cap off the afternoon with 3 innings, facing the minimum while striking out 2.

Friday evening is the return of Friday nights at Labatt Park as the Majors will take on the same Red Sox before taking to the road again making their first trip to Welland on Saturday night. Tickets for Friday night can be purchased online at Majorsstore.com

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world. The league was established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
