The London Majors slugged five home runs and got an outstanding pitching performance from Cesilio Pimentel to claim their sixth win of the season over the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers by a score of 9-0 Tuesday night at Fergie Jenkins Field.
The Majors scattered their offence across five innings as Trent Lenihan got things rolling with his third home run of the season to right field to give the Majors an early 1-0 lead.
Eduardo De Oleo then started the top of the second inning with his second home run of the season. Jarret Burney then followed that up with his first home run as a Major to give the Majors a 3-0 lead.
Burney didn't stop there though, as he slugged another home run, this one a two-run shot in the top of the fifth, giving him his first multi-home run game in the CBL and three RBIs on the night. David Draayers joined the slugfest as well, as he hit his first home run as a Major to right center field to extend the Majors' lead to 6-0 in the sixth inning. Maikol Escotto, Jaden Babuik, and Ryder Hancock also contributed as each drove in a run to give the Majors a 9-0 lead.
While the Major offence was the primary star of the game, Cesilio Pimentel quietly pitched an absolute gem, throwing seven scoreless innings while giving up just six hits and striking out four. He moves to 2-0 on the season. Kade Douglas and Dustin Davidson each pitched a scoreless inning in relief of Pimentel.
The Majors now improve to 6-3 on the season and will return to Labatt Memorial Park on Friday, June 5, to host the Kitchener Panthers.
