Majors Sign Two Rookies
The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of Brampton natives Udhay Bal & Max Von Gemmingen for the 2020 season. Both players join the Majors as D1 players and are 19-year-olds.
Bal is a utility player, who fits all over the infield, and currently plays at Mount Saint Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Before heading off to Maryland, Udhay played for Ontario Terriers, Great Lake Canadians and Ontario Royals during his high school years. He was selected to play in Tournament 12 in 2017 for Team Ontario Green and was the MVP for Heart Lake Secondary School in 2018.
Von Gemmingen brings more versatility to the club, as he is able to play in the outfield, 1st base and catcher. With the Lakeland Lakers in the 2018-2019 season, he posted a stellar .281 batting average and had 11 RBI in 28 games. Max has a very good .385 on-base percentage this year and is perfect in the field playing at Spring Arbor University in his sophomore season.
When asked about the two newest Majors, field and general manager Roop Chanderdat had this to say “I am pleased to add two young players, Udhay Bal and Max Von Gemmingen, to our team.” “These two players will add some depth to our team and we are looking to help them continue their development.”
