Majors Sign infielder Luis Jean
The London Majors have announced the signing of infielder Luis Jean for the 2026 Canadian Baseball League season.
Jean, 31, brings a wealth of league and professional experience to London. The right-handed hitting infielder previously suited up for the Hamilton Cardinals in 2022, where he enjoyed an outstanding season at the plate, batting .336 with one home run and nine RBIs. He followed that up with another strong campaign in 2023 with the Welland Jackfish, hitting .347 while adding six doubles and 13 RBIs.
Over his IBL career, the San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, product was one of the most consistent contact hitters. In 57 career games, Jean owns a .349 batting average with two home runs, 12 doubles, four triples, 22 stolen bases, and just 26 strikeouts, showcasing both elite bat-to-ball skills and speed.
Before making his mark in Canadian baseball, Jean spent six seasons in affiliated professional baseball within the Colorado Rockies organization from 2012–2017. During that stretch, he climbed as high as Double-A, posting a career .264 average.
“We’re excited to add another impact bat to our lineup that can play anywhere on the diamond,” said Majors Field Manager Roop Chanderdat. “Luis is a throwback player who gives 100 percent every time he’s out on the field. He’s a guy who always has his jersey dirty and plays the game hard. He puts the bat on the ball, adds good experience and speed to our club, and he’s versatile enough to hit at the top or the bottom of the lineup.”
With his proven track record, versatility, and relentless style of play, Jean is expected to be a key addition to the Majors as they prepare for the 2026 season.
