Majors sign Cesilio Pimentel for 2026 season
The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of veteran left-handed pitcher Cesilio Pimentel for the 2026 CBL season.
Pimentel, 33, brings a wealth of experience to the Majors with 14 seasons of professional baseball under his belt. The San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic native has logged more than 700 career innings, compiling a 4.18 ERA with a 3.3 BB/9 and 7.0 K/9, showcasing his ability to command the strike zone and miss bats throughout a long professional career.
The 6-foot-2, 240-pound left-hander began his professional journey in 2011 with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. After being released in 2016, Pimentel continued his career in the American Association, pitching for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks and Lincoln Saltdogs, before earning another affiliated opportunity with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization in 2017.
From there, Pimentel expanded his resume internationally, pitching professionally in Mexico, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic, further adding to his experience against high-level competition across multiple leagues and styles of play.
“Cesilio is an ace-type lefty who has five pitches he can throw for strikes,” said Majors Field Manager Roop Chanderdat. “His experience overseas and in North America speaks for itself. He’s a veteran who knows how to pitch, and he brings a very valuable pedigree to our team along with strong leadership qualities.”
The signing of Pimentel adds proven experience and leadership to the Majors pitching staff as the club continues to build toward the upcoming season.
