Majors Sign Canadian Caleb Cassie
The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of right-handed pitcher Caleb Cassie for the upcoming 2026 Canadian Baseball League season.
Cassie joins the Majors after spending the past two seasons at Queens University of New York (NCAA Division II), where he established himself as a dependable and swing-and-miss arm in the Knights’ rotation. Over the 2024–25 seasons, Cassie struck out 114 batters across 95.0 innings, posting an impressive 10.8 K/9 rate while making 20 starts and 22 total appearances. During his junior campaign, the Delta, B.C. native earned All-East Coast Conference (ECC) Second Team honours as a starting pitcher after logging 61.0 innings and leading the team with 71 strikeouts.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound right-hander also enjoyed a strong summer in 2025 with the Bellingham Bells of the West Coast League, helping guide the club to a league championship. Cassie went 3-0 with a 2.57 ERA over 10 appearances, striking out 11 batters in 14.0 innings. Transitioning to a full-time bullpen role, he proved reliable in high-leverage situations and made playoff appearances, where he punched out four hitters in three innings.
“Adding Caleb to our staff gives us more options, and it’s always nice to bring in a pitcher who has experience both as a starter and a reliever,” said Majors Field Manager Roop Chanderdat. “He’s a four-pitch guy with size and strength, good deception on his fastball, and the ability to generate swing and miss with his changeup, cutter, and slider. He has a low-90s fastball with natural run, which makes him a great back-end bullpen option for us. He’s hungry and ready to take the bull by the horns.”
With his combination of collegiate success, summer league championship experience, and power repertoire, Cassie is expected to compete for meaningful innings and add depth and flexibility to the Majors’ pitching staff in 2026.
