Majors shut out by Royals

The Guelph Royals scattered their offence across five different innings to shutout the LondonMajors by a score of 5-0 at HastingsStadium in Guelph on Saturday afternoon.


Today's game extended streaks for both teams. The London Majors loss was their third in a row, but the stand a half game ahead of the Guelph Royals. Guelph has now won three games in a row remain in third place in the IBL. 

Jose Arias started on the mound for the London Majors and went six innings giving up three

runs on nine hits. The run that Guelph scored in the fourth inning making the score 3-0 at the

time was unearned. Colby Ring came on in relief of Arias to pitch the seventh and eighth

innings Ring gave up one run in each of those innings.

The Majors put runners on base in every inning, except for the sixth and ninth innings but failed

to score.

Eduardo De Oleo had a pair of singles and Josh Niles had a single and a double. Toby

Simmons and Ty Mosher added one single each to round out the London six hit attack.

Guelph starter Jacob Kush got the win allowing five hits in seven innings. Nelson Mercado

pitched the final two scoreless innings.

The Chatham Barnstormers will visit Labatt Park for the first time in the 2025 season on Sunday

afternoon June 1st. First pitch will be at 1:05 P.M
