Majors Lose it Late Vs Welland
The Majors enjoyed a week off before taking on the Welland Jackfish tonight at Labatt Park. After a successful weekend where they won 3 of 3 games, they looked to continue their winning ways.
With Braeden Ferrington on the mound, the Jackfish would get out to a good start scoring 3 runs in the first inning before being shut down for 6 innings by Ferrington going 5.1 innings and Doyle 2.1 innings giving up a combined 2 earned runs. The 9th inning was a different story where the Jackfish would go on to score 6 runs, 4 of them earned on Mike DeLong who took the loss in the outing. Bo Buckley would come in to finish out the game cleaning up the 9th getting the final 3 outs.
Offensively the Majors Majors responded in the first inning with a bases-loaded walk by Carlos Arteaga scoring Jaco from third followed by a sixth and seventh inning where they would score 2 runs each. Jaco also has seen his hitting streak climb to 8 games, the only 2 games Jaco has not recorded a hit in were the two he pitched in.
After the loss, the Majors will look to get back in the win column with a game against the Hamilton Cardinals tomorrow night (Saturday) vs the Hamilton Cardinals at 7:35 from Labatt Park before travelling down the 401 to Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs on Sunday. Tickets for Saturday night's game can still be purchased online at www.londonmajors.com.
