Majors lose hard fought battle vs Jackfish

In a battle of the top two teams in the IBL, the Jackfish and Majors gave the fans in the pond a battle on both sides. Ultimately the Majors would fall 6-5 in a battle to the end.

It would be back to the 2021 version of Pedro De Los Santos on the mound as he would go 5 innings, striking out 8 while only allowing 4 runs. Making his first IBL appearance in his career, Daniel Gore would come out in the 6th inning with runners on and 0 outs. Gore would get his first career strikeout in his 3rd batter, while also recording the third out himself on a fly-out. He would record 2 strikeouts in 3 innings while only allowing 2 earned runs.

Taylor Wright would be the big offensive boost for the Majors getting his 2nd and 3rd home run in 24 hours as he would record 3 RBIs, going 3-4. Cleveland Brownlee would also get himself a hard-hit double, scoring Jakob Newton before being driven in himself by Robert Mullen.

The Major look to get back in the win column on Sunday as they take on the Kitchener Panthers once again but this time at Jack Couch Park at 2 pm.

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
