Majors Go Fishing and Score 5
Friday night the Majors and Pedro De Los Santos were back at it vs the Welland Jackfish and were able to break their 2 game losing streak.
De Los Santos continued his perfect start to the season and lowered his ERA to 0.75 as he allowed 2 hits through 9 innings in a complete game.
The big offensive blow was by left fielder Humberto Ruiz in the bottom of the 2nd inning where he hit his first home run which was his 2nd career bomb. Carlos Arteaga would score Chris McQueen in the third inning followed by a Byron Reichstein double, scoring Arteaga from second. Filmon came up huge in the bottom of the 8th inning with the bases juiced and a full count with a single to center field scoring 2 giving the Majors 5-0 lead
Hayden Jaco also continued his 6 game hitting streak with a single in the bottom of the 8th inning.
The Majors continue their busy weekend with a game Saturday vs the Kitchener Panthers followed by a doubleheader vs the Barrie Baycats as part of the makeup game from July 11th. Tickets to all Majors home games can be purchased on the Majors website.
