It did not take long for the London Majors to get back to their winning ways after their first loss of the season last night in Kitchener.

London got a very strong performance from starting pitcher Travis Keys to claim their third win of the 2026 CBL season, a 3-1 victory over the Guelph Royals on Friday night at Labatt Park. The local lefthander held the Royals to one run on six hits, recording six strikeouts and only two walks. Zachary Laird and Skylar Janisse pitched one scoreless inning each in relief of Keys.  Janisse was credited with his second save of the season.

London scored twice in the third inning and once in the bottom of the seventh inning. Ryder Hancock drew a walk to start the third inning. Lead-off hitter Maikol Escotto's hit-and-run ground ball single eluded Guelph third baseman Drew Donaldson and moved Hancock to third base. Jaden Babiuk followed with a single through the right side of the infield to earn himself two RBI.

Guelph scored a single run in the top of the seventh inning to make the score at that point 2-1, London. The Majors answered with one run in the bottom of the seventh inning. The inning started with Jarrett Burney drawing a walk and Ryder Hancock being hit by a pitch before Jaden Babiuk singled to left field to score Burney for his third RBI of the game. Maikol Escotto and Jaden Babiuk had two hits each, while Trent Lenihan, Starling Joseph and David Draayers contributed one hit each to round out the London offence.

The Majors will be back in action on Sunday in Brantford and Thursday in Kitchener before returning to Labatt Park Friday, May 29th, to host the Toronto Maple Leafs.
