Majors flex their muscles in Toronto

The first-place London Majors offence flexed its muscles Saturday night at Dominico Field as their run total hit double digits for the eleventh time in this 2026 CBL season on their way to a 20-4 rout of the Toronto Maple Leafs.  

London starting pitcher Luis Perez earned his second win of the season. Perez held Toronto to two runs on six hits with two strikeouts in his six innings of work. Rookie relief pitcher Daniel Orfaly came out of the London bullpen to pitch the final three innings. 

As has been the case recently, the London offence was overpowering as they accumulated a total of 17 hits. The Majors scored two unearned runs in the top of the second inning to take an early 2-0 lead, but the Maple Leafs added two runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 2-2 after four innings. 

That was when London blew the game wide open, putting crooked numbers on the scoreboard in each of the next five innings to get to the final score of 20-4. Jarrett Burney led the way with four hits that included a double and a home run. Tucker Zdunich had a double and a home run and five RBIs, Cristian Inoa and Maikol Escotto both had three hits, including a home run each. David Draayers recorded a double and a single on the night, while Eduardo DeOleo had two singles. Trent Linehan rounded out the hit total with a single before being lifted for Xavier Whittle, who had a walk in the contest.

The London Majors will bring their 27-11 record back to Labatt Memorial Park Sunday at 4:05 PM, looking to sweep their three-game weekend.
