Majors fall to to Jackfish Comeback
After a half-game last night the Majors took to the road to visit the pond and take on the Welland Jackfish. After leading heading into the 9th the Majors would fall to the Jackfish 8-7.
Roop Chanderdat would turn to one of his import pitchers in Jose Arias for the start, the Dominican Republic native would go 6 innings of dominant work with 7 strikeouts while allowing only 1 run and 1 walk in his first start and second appearance this year. Braeden Ferrington would come in for 2 innings looking to replicate his great 2021 season. A pitch to contact pitcher, Ferrington would allow 1 hit while striking out 1 and allowing 1 run. Another newcomer Fernando Fernandez would come in to pitch the 9th inning striking out 2 but did walk 2 and allowing 5 runs. Jaryd Lund would come after Fernandez was unable to close it out while giving up the walk-off run.
Although the bats were quiet beside the screaming double that Cleveland Brownlee would have in the 1st inning. In the 5th inning the Majors were trailing 1-0 when Dan Perrier would score Austin Wilkie on a single and error to start 5 run inning. Keith Kandel would double as well scoring another run along with Drew Lawrence getting on base with a single before Robert Mullen would hit a 2 run home run to give the Majors their 6th and 7th run.
