Majors fall on Friday night

In a game that saw rain off and on and was scoreless into the sixth inning the London Majors suffered their third loss of the 2024 season at the hands of the Barrie Baycats by a score of 4-0 on Friday night at Labatt Park.


London starting pitcher Jose Arias retired the first 15 Baycats batters in order. The big blow for Barrie was Adam Odd’s bases-loaded two-out double in the sixth inning that left fielder Starling Joseph made an unsuccessful diving attempt to catch.

That hit by Odd made the score 3-0.  Barrie added a single run in the eighth inning.


Barrie starting pitcher Frank Garces pitched seven scoreless innings for the win.The Majors had seven well-scattered hits. Catcher Eduardo De Oleo had two singles while Tommy Reyes-Cruz, Starling Joseph, Kaiden Cardoso, Gibson Krzeminski, and Tristan Osika had one base hit each.Travis Keys and Jonathan Henry pitched in relief of Jose Arias for London.


Next action for the London Majors will be on the road in Barrie Sunday afternoon take on the Baycats in a rematch at 3:05.

The Majors will be back at Labatt Park June 14th to host the Toronto Maple Leafs.
