Majors & Cardinals Clash in a low scoring Affair

In what was a make up game on a Wednesday night the Majors welcomed the Hamilton Cardinals to town.

This game would be what manager Roop Chanderdat would love to see almost every game this season. After 2 Cardinals would get on to start the game, Luke Kelley would get a fly out and strike out before right fielder Byron Reichstein would throw a laser to Hayden Jaco and get Ryan Freemantle out by what would seem like miles at home. Both teams would stay quiet until the 3rd inning where Reichsteain would continue to be a big part of this game where he would take the 3rd pitch of a 2-0 count over the left field fence for his 5th jack of the season.

Luke Kelley would continue his successful season already in his short time with the Majors as he would go 7 complete innings, striking out 6 while dropping his ERA to 3.00 and a record of 1-0 in his 15 innings of work this season. Roop Chanderdat turned it over to one of his most reliable arms all season in Braeden Ferrington who would pitch the final 2 innings getting 1 strike out, while recording his 3rd save of the season which puts him one behind league leader Stefen Strecker of the Cardinals and one up on teammate Jaryd Lund in the league leaders.

Wednesday’s game was the start of a busy weekend for the Majors where they will play Friday at home for Alumni night against the Toronto Maple Leafs, followed by a road game vs the Baycats followed by the back half of a home and home on Sunday against the Cats.
