Majors add Ottawa Gee-Gee Grad

The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of corner outfielder Evan Symons.

The 21-year-old just wrapped up a four-year USports career with the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees, where he majored in Human Kinetics. This past season with the Gee-Gees, the Vancouver, B.C., native batted .340 with a .414 on-base percentage and 14 RBI’s in 15 games.

The 6-foot-2, 180 lb. right-handed hitter can play both corner positions in the outfield and infield. He played for the Lethbridge Bulls in the Western Canadian Collegiate League last summer, batting .281 with a .361 on-base percentage over 19 contests and 72 plate-appearances.

"Symons is another player that can play multiple positions and this gives me some flexibility.  Evan has had success in both Usports and WCBL and proven he can get on base", says Roop Chanderdat, GM & Field Manager.

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
