London Majors Sign David Draayers for 2026 CBL Season

The London Majors have announced the signing of infielder David Draayers for the upcoming 2026 Canadian Baseball League season.

Draayers, 24, becomes the second player to join the Majors out of UBC Thunderbirds, alongside first baseman Trent Lenihan. The Abbotsford, B.C. native completed his senior season in 2025 with UBC, batting .293 with three home runs, nine doubles, two triples, 32 RBI and a .356 on-base percentage in 52 games.

Over three seasons with the Thunderbirds from 2023–2025, the left-handed hitting infielder produced 10 home runs and 100 RBI across 154 career games, striking out just 89 times while posting a lifetime .346 OBP. Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 190 pounds, Draayers served primarily as a shortstop during his final collegiate season but brings valuable versatility, with experience at second base, third base, first base, and both corner outfield positions.

“We’re excited to add David to our club,” said Majors Field Manager Roop Chanderdat. “He comes from a very successful program at UBC and gives us a player who can play anywhere on the diamond. He’s a solid left-handed bat who consistently produced high RBI numbers throughout his career. David doesn’t strike out much, has a clean left-handed swing, and has the potential to be an important player for our team this season.”
