London Majors Re-Sign Left-Handed Pitcher Victor Payano
The London Majors are pleased to announce the re-signing of left-handed pitcher Victor Payano for the upcoming Canadian Baseball League (CBL) season.
Payano, 33, returns to the Majors for his third season with the club and continues to be a cornerstone of the London pitching staff. The 6-foot-5, 254-pound southpaw delivered another strong campaign in 2025, posting a 6-4 record with a 3.28 ERA across 16 appearances (15 starts). He ranked tied for first in the league in innings pitched (101.1) and second in strikeouts (113).
A native of San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic, Payano has been a model of consistency during his time in London. Over 38 career games (28 starts) with the Majors, he has compiled a 3.23 ERA, going 13-10 with 242 strikeouts and just 36 walks in 192 innings pitched.
A two-time league all-star, Payano brings an impressive professional resume to the Majors. He spent 10 seasons in Minor League Baseball from 2010–2019, pitching in the Texas Rangers, Miami Marlins, and Cincinnati Reds organizations, and reached as high as Triple-A with the Marlins organization in 2017.
"Victor is an extremely important piece of our pitching staff and brings a lot of leadership to our team,” said Majors field manager Roop Chanderdat. “Having him back is a huge place to start when building our staff. He sets the tone every time he takes the ball and is someone our younger pitchers can learn a great deal from.”
With Payano back in the fold, the London Majors continue to build toward another competitive season, anchored by veteran leadership and proven performance on the mound.
