Ferrington pitches a gem for 4th straight team win

After what was an incredible weekend for the Majors taking 3 wins from 2 of the league’s upper echelon teams and an exciting extra-innings victory over the Red Sox it was the Majors taking on the Royals to end the league's regular season. A pitcher dual timed with perfect situational hitting for the Majors would lead to a 4-game-winning streak going into the playoffs for the Majors with a 3-2 win.

Dual-threat Robert Mackie was what some would call an opener in the game as he would go 2 innings, striking out 2 while only allowing 2 hits. Braeden Ferrington would take over in the 3rd inning and run from there with it for the Majors. Going 7 innings (3rd time over his IBL career, the first time since Aug 21st, 2021), striking out 8 while only allowing 2 runs, Ferrington would hold the Royals to only 1 walk as well.

With a great pitching staff on the other side of the diamond, the Majors were in tough with Guelph. Josh Williams would start things in the 4th inning with a single that scored Tommy Reyes-Cruz. Charlie Bowman who got the start behind the plate would score the Majors 2nd run of the game on his second hit of the contest. Bowman also had 2 stolen bases as well. Eduardo De Oleo returned to the lineup at DH and scored the winning run in the top of the 9th with a ground-rule double that at the time looked to score 2 but Starling Joseph was sent back to third but still with the 3-2 lead.

Playoffs get started on Thursday in Kitchener vs the Panthers before game 2 at Labatt Park on Friday. Tickets to game 2 can be purchased online at www.majorsstore.com, a reminder to all regular season pass holders that they are not valid for the playoffs
