De Los Santos returns to the Pinstripes

The London Majors are happy to announce the return of one of the league’s top pitchers in 2021, Pedro De Los Santos.

The league leader in ERA with 2.19 and only trailed teammate Owen Boon in strikeouts(9) and wins(1) and was a key factor to the Majors championship run. Pitching over 90 innings last season in 12 games, going roughly 7.5 innings per start, Pedro gave Roop Chanderdat a quality start each and every outing. After playing 3 seasons in Toronto, Pedro joined the Majors and was able to find his dominant way.

When asked about his first season in the pinstripes, Pedro was so excited to return “ I had the most fun in a long-time playing baseball.  It was a great group of guys and it was a great atmosphere pitching at Labatt Park on Friday Nights. I am looking forward to another year playing for Roop and our great fans.”

Roop Chanderdat was asked about the return of his dominant lefty while looking to defend the championship “Pedro has a great season last year and formed the best starting pitching 1-2 punch with Owen Boon. Pedro worked very hard to get himself ready for the season and this hard work paid off for both himself and the Majors as he had his best season in the IBL. He brought a veteran presence to our pitching staff and was a calm presence in the dugout. All season long he did a great job of mixing his pitches and speed to keep the hitters off-balance.”

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
