Brownlee, Arteaga and Boon Help in Win Over Cardinals

The Majors capped off their weekend off of three games with an onslaught of victory over the Hamilton Cardinals. It didn’t take long for the Majors to get into the offence with Cleveland Brownlee hitting a 3 run blast over the right-field fence in Hamilton.

Brownlee wouldn’t be the only one to leave the park on the day. Throughout the day 8 of the Majors starting 9 would hit at least 1 RBI with Arteaga having 3 and Filmon, Johnson & Austin Wilkie all having 2 each. Hayden Jaco also got back in the hitting category with a double in the third inning to score Carlos Arteaga.

Owen Boon got the start on the hill for the Majors looking for retribution on the Cardinals as they were the opponent when he had his shortest outing of the season back on July 20th that was his only loss of the season. Boon went 6 innings giving up 2 earned runs, striking out 2. Mike DeLong and Jaryd Lund closed the game out pitching the final 3 innings giving up a combined 2 earned runs on 2 hits walking 2. Lund pitched 2 innings total while striking out 5.

The Majors have a busy weekend coming up as they play 4 games in 4 days facing the Jackfish, Cardinals, and Red Sox this weekend before heading back to Bernie Arbour to take on the Cardinals again. Tickets for Friday night's game vs the Cardinals can be purchased online at   www.londonmajors.com
