Boon pitches Majors past Panthers

KITCHENER – London starter Owen Boon went 6.2 shutout innings, and the Majors scored the game's only run on a passed ball to edge the Kitchener Panthers 1-0 Thursday night at Jack Couch Park.

Boon (4-2) scattered three hits while walking three and striking out six.

Jonathan Thibodeau scored in the fifth inning on a ball he couldn't corral while behind the plate.

For Kitchener, Jeff Hunt and Brian Burton both had a hit and stolen base.

Stephen Gade (1-1) took the loss, allowing a run on two hits with four walks in 5.2 innings.

For London.

London improved to 14-16, and Kitchener fell to 20-8.
