11 runs leads Majors to Victory

The London Majors kicked off another three-game weekend with an 11-7 victory over the visiting Brantford Red Sox on Friday May 31 at Labatt Park.


London field manager Roop Chanderdat summed up the victory by saying, ¨It was a good win to start the weekend. We got big hits from Starling Joseph and Champ Garner driving in runs. ¨


Nine different players contributed to the Majors' 13-hit attack. The scoring started with a four-run two-out rally in the second inning. London scored in each of the next three innings and tacked on a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Tommy Reyes-Cruz had three hits, Starling Joseph had a pair of hits and four RBI, and Champ Garner had two hits and three RBI to lead the Majors offence. Ty Mosher, Gibson Krzeminski, Kaiden Cardoso. Eduardo De Oleo, Brad Verhoeven, and Cleveland Brownlee contributed one hit each.


Daniel Gore started on the mound for London, followed by solid middle-relief performances from Skylar Janisse and Jonathan Henry. Braeden Ferrington finished up the ninth inning on the mound.


London will take their 6-1 record on the road on Saturday afternoon to face the Welland Jackfish before returning home on Sunday afternoon for a 1:00 P.M. start against the newest team in the IBL, the Chatham Barnstormers.
