Majors Sign Versatile Utility Man Jaden Babiuk

The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of utility player Jaden Babiuk for the upcoming 2026 Canadian Baseball League (CBL) season.

Babiuk brings a rare and highly valuable skillset to the Majors’ roster, with the ability to play catcher and all four infield positions. The St. Albert, Alberta product is a left-handed hitter known for his versatility, baseball IQ, and consistent offensive production.

The 5-foot-11, 180 lb. utility player played his collegiate baseball at Valley City State University (NAIA), where he enjoyed an outstanding career at the plate. Across his time with the Vikings, Babiuk posted a .331 career batting average, a .401 on-base percentage, a .446 slugging percentage, and an .846 OPS.

Across his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons at Valley City State, Babiuk consistently showcased his versatility and offensive reliability while earning Second Team All-Conference honours twice.

As a sophomore, he made an immediate impact primarily behind the plate, batting .398 with extra-base pop, strong run production, and throwing out 16 runners on the basepaths. He followed that up with a steady junior campaign, starting all 54 games mainly at shortstop, adding 12 doubles while continuing to show defensive flexibility. In his senior season, Babiuk rounded out his collegiate career by hitting .333 with 12 doubles, two home runs, and nine stolen bases, all while playing eight different positions, underscoring his adaptability, leadership, and team-first approach.

Most recently, Babiuk suited up for the Medicine Hat Mavericks of the WCBL, where he hit .309 with a .370 on-base percentage. During the season, he saw time at catcher, shortstop, second base, and third base, further showcasing his defensive flexibility.

"We’re super excited to have Jaden’s skillset as he brings a rare blend of tools, being able to play catcher and almost all positions on the diamond,” said Majors Field Manager Roop Chanderdat. “Jaden has great bat-to-ball skills and is a solid defender with good range and a good arm. His resume shows exceptional leadership abilities and a willingness to play wherever the team needs him. He’s a coach’s dream, and I can’t wait to see him continue to develop and help our club this season.”

With his versatility, proven bat, and leadership qualities, Babiuk adds another dynamic piece to the Majors as they continue building toward a competitive 2026 campaign.
