Majors Sign Star Centre Fielder Roberto Caro for 2026 CBL Season
The London Majors are excited to announce the signing of star centre fielder Roberto Caro for the 2026 Canadian Baseball League (CBL) season, adding an accomplished, dynamic presence to the heart of their lineup and defence.
Caro, 32, brings more than a decade of professional baseball experience to London. A switch-hitting centre fielder, Caro is a consistent offensive threat from both sides of the plate and a proven difference-maker with his glove and speed. He most recently suited up for Los Tigres de Quintana Roo in the top independent league in Mexico during the 2024 season, where he posted a .267 batting average with a .341 on-base percentage, along with two home runs and 10 RBIs in 34 games.
A native of San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic, Caro spent eight seasons in the Chicago Cubs organization (2012–2020), reaching Double-A with the Tennessee Smokies in 2019. During his affiliated career, he established himself as one of the system’s most consistent performers, earning three MiLB All-Star selections and being named a 2018 Chicago Cubs Organizational All-Star after hitting .317, split between the South Bend Cubs and Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
Over the course of his professional career, Caro has compiled a .276 lifetime batting average and a .385 on-base percentage, while swiping an impressive 209 stolen bases, highlighting his elite speed and instincts on the basepaths.
"What we love most about Roberto is his leadership, his ability to hit consistently from both sides of the plate, and to play Gold Glove–calibre defence while providing speed on the bases,” said London Majors Field Manager Roop Chanderdat. “The best part about Caro is how he produces professional plate appearances. He can work the count deep, has a strong two-strike approach, and he’s someone who puts the ball in play. That’s something we want to be our identity this year. His experience speaks for itself as a multi-time All-Star, and we can’t wait to have him.”
With Caro patrolling centre field, the Majors add a polished veteran whose blend of offence, defence, speed, and leadership is set to make an immediate impact as the club prepares for the 2026 season.
