The London Majors claimed their first road win of the 2026 CBL season Sunday afternoon in Brantford, beating the Red Sox 9-5.
Both teams looked good early as each had a pair of solo home runs in the first four innings of play. Trent Lenihan hit his first home run of the season to deep center field in the top of the first to give the Majors an early 1-0 lead. Tucker Zdunich then followed that up in the top of the second with a homer to center of his own to extend the Majors' lead.
Left-hander Travis Keys started for the Majors and was dominant through three innings, until he ran into a bit of trouble in the bottom of the fourth when the Red Sox hit two solo home runs, one from Brody Black and one from Nick Iannaotone that tied the game up at 2-2.
The top of the fifth rolled in, and the Majors' bats caught absolute fire, putting up a seven-spot in the fifth. Twelve Majors came up to bat in the top half of the frame. Trent Lenihan, Eduardo De Oleo, Starling Joseph, Luis Jean and Jaden Babiuk all drove in runs, giving the Majors a 9-2 lead.
Despite the Majors having eighteen hits in the game, the bats were silenced after the seven-run outburst as the Red Sox put up three more runs, one in the bottom of each of the fifth, sixth and ninth. Travis Keys got the win after pitching five solid innings.
The Majors' bullpen was also locked in, as Kade Douglas made his first appearance as a Major, pitching the sixth and seventh innings while giving up just one earned run and striking out four. Caleb Cassie then finished off the game by pitching the eightieth and ninth, while surrendering just one earned run, while punching out three.
The Majors have now improved to 2-0 on the season and will continue their road trip Tuesday night with a visit to Fergie Jenkins Field in Chatham, followed by a Thursday night clash against the Kitchener Panthers before they return to Labatt Memorial Park on Friday, May 22, when they'll host the Guelph Royals.
