The London Majors, who are now tied for first place in the Canadian Baseball League standings with the Barrie Baycats, celebrated Father's Day by extending their winning streak to five games and their streak of scoring in double digits to three games with a 10-2 victory over the Brantford Red Sox at Labatt Memorial Park.
The offensive power that the Majors have displayed recently once again came from the same part of the batting order. Thirteen of London's 16 hits came from the top five hitters in the order.
Second baseman Cristian Inoa drove in five runs with a double and a home run.
Trent Linehan had four singles, and he scored four times.
Maikol Escotto was next in line in the hit parade with a home run and two singles, along with his ninth stolen base of the 2026 CBL season.
Tucker Zdunich and Eduardo De Oleo had two hits each.
Jaden Babiuk, David Draayers and Xavier Whittle rounded out London's 16-hit total with one each.
The winning pitcher was London starter Cesilio Pimentel, who went six innings, allowing two runs on four hits with a walk and seven strikeouts.
The London bullpen was strong again, with one scoreless inning each from Zachary Laird, Miguel Cirino and Skylar Janisse. This was not a save situation for Janisse, who leads the CBL with five saves. Janisse's closing talents were not needed all weekend, but Manager Roop Chandardat took the opportunity to give him an inning of work to stay loose.
It has been a while since the Majors have played a weekday game, but that will happen Tuesday night in Chatham at Fergie Jenkins Field versus the Barnstormers in a game that will have first pitch at 7:35.
