On an extremely hot Friday night at Labatt Memorial Park, the London Majors pitchers and hitters were every bit as hot as the weather, as they handed the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers a decisive 10-0 beating.

With this win, the Majors tightened their grip on first place in the Canadian Baseball League standings by improving their record to 16-7, one game ahead of the second-place Barrie Baycats.

Pick an adjective to describe starting pitcher Travis Keys’ pitching performance.  Phenomenal, incredible, stupendous, and spectacular could all define his seven-shutout innings, where he allowed only three hits with five strikeouts. Alex Springer and Skylar Janisse each threw a scoreless inning in relief of Keys to preserve the shutout.

London's 14-hit onslaught came from eight different players. Trent Linehan had four singles and two RBI. Cristian Inoa single-handedly put six RBI in the Box Score with a two-run blast in the third inning and a grand slam in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Eduardo De Oleo had a single, a double and one RBI. Maikol Escotto banged out two singles and added a stolen base. Left fielder Adam Thuss chipped in with an RBI double in the third inning. Starling Joseph, Jarret Burney, and Xavier Whittle had one hit each to wrap up the London hit total.

The London Majors will go on the road for their next two games.  A Sunday afternoon stop at Christie Pits in Toronto to face the Maple Leafs at 2:00 PM, and then a Tuesday night visit to Fergie Jenkins Field in Chatham to tackle the Barnstormers with first pitch at 7:35 PM.
