The London Majors had another rough outing against Hamilton, falling 11-1 to the Cardinals Tuesday night at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium.

The Cardinals’ pitching staff continued to be a problem for the Majors’ offence, as Luis Ramirez got the start for Hamilton and delivered a dominant outing. The 33-year-old right-hander tossed six scoreless innings, allowing just five hits while striking out seven.

Cesilio Pimentel was on the hill for the Majors and struggled early in the first inning, as the Cardinals scored four early runs. Evan Magill, Reyny Reyes and Anderson Feliz all contributed to giving Hamilton a 4-0 lead. The Cardinals would then add another run in the bottom of the second as Brandon Nicoll hit an RBI double to extend the lead for Hamilton to 5-0.

Pimental, who has made five of his six starts on the road, settled right back down and pitched a scoreless third, fourth and fifth. Pimentel ended his evening with five innings pitched, giving up five earned runs on nine hits while striking out six. Kade Douglas, Dustin Davidson and Caleb Cassie all pitched in relief of Pimental.

The Cardinals would then put up a six-spot in the bottom of the sixth, as Anderson Feliz started the inning with an RBI infield hit. Angel Guerrero would then follow that up with a three-run home run to deep right field, and then Darlin German also joined in on the fun as he hit a line drive two-run bomb to centre field, putting the Cardinals up 11-0 at the end of the sixth.

The Majors’ only run came on a sacrifice fly from Trent Lenhihan in the top of the seventh, as the Cardinals’ bullpen continued to shut things down. Danny Garcia, Steven Hospital and Caleb Seroski each worked an inning of relief for Hamilton.

The Majors will have a chance to bounce back, as they’ll be in action again tomorrow night for Canada Day, as the 13-6 Barrie Baycats will be at Labatt Memorial Park. It will be one of the bigger games of the season, as sole possession of first place in the CBL will be on the line, first pitch is set for 6:05.
