Majors add crafty righty Cirino
The London Majors have announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Miguel Cirino for the 2026 season.
Cirino, a 29-year-old native of Loiza, Puerto Rico, joins the Majors with six seasons of professional baseball experience. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound right-hander has spent time with the Utica Unicorns of the USPBL from 2020-2021 before pitching in the Pioneer League with the Ogden Raptors in 2022 and the Grand Junction Jackalopes in 2023. Most recently, Cirino competed in San Juan in the Puerto Rican Winter League.
Prior to turning professional, Cirino pitched collegiately at Ottawa University Arizona (NAIA) from 2018-2019. Over 97.1 innings, he struck out 112 batters while allowing just 83 hits and issuing 58 walks.
Across 112.1 professional innings, Cirino owns an 8.6 strikeouts-per-nine-innings rate while posting a 4.6 walks-per-nine mark. During his time in the Pioneer League, he recorded an impressive 9.5 K/9 rate, showcasing his ability to miss bats at a high level.
London Majors Field Manager Roop Chanderdat says Cirino’s versatility and energy will be a welcome addition to the club’s pitching staff.
“We’re very excited to welcome Miguel to the Majors as he will add a different look and versatility to our pitching staff with his ability to pitch both in relief and as a starter,” said Chanderdat. “Cirino is a hard-throwing righty that brings a lot of personality to our clubhouse, along with being another positive and colourful figure our fans will love.”
