Santos & Brownlee keys to Majors' game 1 Victory

Stop us if you have heard this before, Pedro De Los Santos pitched the Majors to victory again on Friday night. Entering the IBL Finals looking to break a 46-year drought, the Majors had their workhorse going at home vs his former team.

Pedro would quite the stimy Maple Leafs’ bats who had hit .218 at Labatt Park in the regular season heading into the game. Going a complete 9 innings and saving the bullpen once again, Santos would tie a career-high in strikeouts with 12 (Aug 8th, 2017 vs Brantford as a Maple Leaf) while only giving up 5 hits with only 1 hard-hit ball that would leave the yad by Connor Lewis.

The Majors would also get Pedro out to a lead heading into the 2nd inning for only the third (11 Starts) time this season. It all started with a Chris McQueen who would be knocked in on a single by Byron Reichstein, who later scored on a single by Cleveland Brownlee. Brownlee, who is looking to cement his career with a championship would have 2 big RBIs including the game-winning in the bottom of the 6th while going 1 for 4 on the night. Keith Kandel would also have the key RBI in the victory.

Game 2 of the 5 game series goes Sunday in Toronto as the Majors will look to take a stranglehold on the series with a victory before returning to Labatt Park for game 3 on Tuesday night. Get your tickets online for game 3.
