Ruiz joins Majors roster prior to Friday

The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of catcher and outfielder Cris Ruiz.

A native of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Ruiz has spent time in 2023 with the Lake Erie Crushers and Schaumburg Boomers of the Frontier League before joining the Majors. During his time in 2022 with the Boomers had 2 home runs and 9 RBIs while walking 14 times. Defensively the St. Thomas Aquinas College graduate had a fielding percentage of .933 while only having 1 error in 34 games.

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world. The league was established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
