Majors win streak stretches to 4

For the 3rd time in 7 days, the Majors took on 403 rival, Brantford Red Sox. After starting the season 0-3, the Majors continue to stay hot adding to their win streak with a 15-2 victory over the Sox tonight in front of the Friday night crowd.

In a repeat of Sunday afternoon, Jaryd Lund took on the Sox again for his second start of the season. Lund would go 5.1 innings with 4 strikeouts while only allowing 2 earned runs. In an incredible outing by the bullpen, the group of Skylar Jannisse, Cam O’Reilly and Braeden Ferrington combined for 1 hit and 2 strikeouts over 3.2 innings.

The story of this game for the Majors was the power bats. Eduardo De Oleo, Byron Reichstein and Tommy Reyes Cruz all had home runs while Graham, Joseph, Kandel & Reichstein all had extra-base hits in the victory. Out of the 15th runs, the Majors had 13 RBIs with 2 players having multiple RBIs. Since the start of the 4-game winnings streak, this was one of the best overall offensive games with each of the starting 9 had either a hit or run scored in the victory.

A slower weekend for the Majors, as they take on the Welland Jackfish tomorrow in Welland at 6:05 PM before getting 5 days off before taking on one of the hottest teams this season in the Kitchener Panthers on Friday June 9th.

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world. The league was established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
