Hits were not plentiful for the London Majors Friday night at Labatt Park, but they got a huge hit when it was needed most.

In the bottom of the ninth inning with the score tied 2-2 London catcher Eduardo De Oleo blooped a soft single to right field that eluded a diving Graham Tebbit and scored Kaiden Cardoso from second base for a 3-2 walk-off win over the Brantford Red Sox..

The Majors were out hit 12 to 5 by the Red Sox, but they were able to get those five hits at critical times. Brantford scored their first run in the second inning for an early 1-0 lead.

London took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the third inning when Champ Garner doubled and was driven home by Tristan Osika who took a two-strike pitch over the right field wall. That home run was Osika´s first of the season.

Kaiden Cardoso with a single in the first inning and a sixth-inning single from Gibson Krzeminski rounded out the London hit total at five.

Starting pitcher Victor Payano was tough through seven innings giving up 12 hits, but he only allowed two runs keeping the Majors in the game. Jonathan Henry pitched scoreless eighth and ninth innings to pick up the win.

The London Majors continue a very busy weekend when they travel to Welland on Saturday to take on the first place Jackfish They will then travel to Kitchener on Sunday for the completion of a game that was suspended in the third inning by rain earlier in the season. That game will be followed by a regular scheduled game against the Kitchener Panthers.
