Majors Get 3 of 4 on Critical Weekend

The Majors took on what seems to be a new rival being just down the 401 in the Kitchener Panthers on Sunday in a battle between 1st and 2nd place.

Boon would get some offensive help as veteran Majors Cleveland Brownlee would hit his 110 home run, 5th of the season to give the Majors a 1-0 lead. Carlos Arteaga and Byron Reichstein would each drive in a run to give them a 3-0 lead in the third. The bats would be silenced till the top of the 6th inning where they would repeat last night's 9th inning and score 7 runs to take a 10-5 lead with the two big blows by Adam Filmon who would hit a first pitch grand slam driving in Jaco, Wilkie and Johnson. After a Ruiz single and lifted for Robert Doyle who was key in the Majors comeback last night, Reichstein would put one over the right field fence.

Owen Boon was doing Owen Boon things right from the start within his first 30 pitches 26 were called strikes and while striking out a total of 9 in his 6 innings of work on the day before turning it over to Connor Ambrogio who would pitch the 7th and 8th inning, allowing 1 run(2 unearned) and striking out 3 before turning it over to the Majors swiss army knife Hayden Jaco. Jaco started at 1st base on the day before pitching the 9th, allowing 2 hits and no runs and getting Boon his league leading 6th win on the season.

The Majors come away with 3 wins in 4 games this weekend and look to continue their winning ways over their last 8 regular season games. Their next home game will be Wednesday night as part of a rain out game vs the Hamilton Cardinals from Aug 13th, tickets for that game can be purchased on the London Majors website www.londonmajors.com
