Majors double up on Red Sox

Another back-to-back game for the Majors lead to another win added to the win streak as the Majors travelled down the 403 to Brantford and defeated the Red Sox, 12-6.

Pedro De Los Santos, was making his first start in Brantford since July 4th, 2018. Would pitch 6 innings while allowing only 3 earned runs on 7 hits while striking out 9 while only walking 1 in the outing. Anderson Acevedo would pitch the 7th inning and unfortunately give up 3 runs on 4 hits while facing 7 batters. Fernando Fernandez would pitch an incredible 8th and 9th inning in his best outing of the year facing 6 batters over 2 innings while striking out all 6 batters. A rare accomplishment in any league.

The Majors’ offence got started as Robert Mullen slapped a single that scored speedy Jakob Newton for a lead the Majors would not look back on. With Dan Perrier getting over to third in the 2nd inning, Drew Lawrence would have a swinging bunt back to the pitcher that was bobbled before being thrown to 1st allowing Perrier to score. With Keith Kandel at the plate, a wild pitch past him would have Starling Joseph come in to score. In the top of the 6th, Perrier would come to the plate with the bases loaded (for the second time in Brantford) and would drive a ball over the center field wall for his 4th home run of the season and 24th RBI. Gibson Krzeminski and Byron Reichstein would also have RBIs late in this game, securing the win.

A trip to Hamilton wraps up another weekend before the Majors welcome Fergie Jenkins to the park on Friday when they take on the Hamilton Cardinals once again. Tickets are available online at www.londonmajors.com

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
