Majors Bring Back 4 Key Pieces
The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of 4 local players for the 2020 season. Coming back for this summer are DH Cleveland Brownlee, catcher Mike Ambrose, outfielder Byron Reichstein and pitcher Owen Boon.
The longest-serving Major, Cleveland Brownlee returns for his 11th season. 2019 was a record-breaking year for Brownlee as he hit his career 100th home run along with finishing the season with 11 home runs bringing his career total to 104. Brownlee also notched his 400th career RBI in 2019.
Ambrose is a veteran catcher who is entering his 7th season in Majors pinstripes. Last year he tied his career-best with 20 RBIs in 35 games and he also earned IBL 2nd Team All Star. Mike brings leadership both on and off the field along with stability behind the plate.
Reichstein, a career .324 average hitter, returns to the Majors for his 9th season. Byron has been a key piece to the Majors outfield and over the past 2 years has only missed 3 total games. Over his career with the Majors, the St. Thomas native has 35 home runs.
The Majors pitching staff welcomes back workhorse Owen Boon. Returning for his 6th season with his hometown team, Boon is only 1 strikeout away from 200 and will look to hit that achievement this season. Owen owns a career ERA of 4.00. Over his 52 game career Boon has been both a starter and also has pitched out of the bullpen.
When asked about bringing these key Majors back this season Roop Chanderdat (Co-Owner, General, Manager, Field Manager) had this to say, “I am very excited to have our main local players coming back for another season”. These guys are very hungry to bring a championship to London.”
