Majors beat Barnstormers 4-3

Jose Arias recorded his third win of the season allowing just two runs over seven strong innings giving the London Majors a tight 4-3 victory over the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers Tuesday night at Fergie Jenkins Field.

The Majors got off to a 4-0 lead early with a single run in the second inning and three runs in the top of the third inning.

The Barnstormers cut that lead in half in the bottom of the third inning when Seth Strong hit his league-leading ninth home run of the season driving in Spencer Marcus whi had led off the inning with a single.

Gibson Krzeminski led the London 10-hit attack going 3-for-4. Starling Joseph had two hits including an RBI double in the three-run rally in the third inning. Victor Plaz, Tristan Osika, Kaiden Cardoso, Eduardo De Oleo, and Tommy Reyes-Cruz had one hit each.

Jonathan Henry picked up a save preserving the win for Jose Arias. Barnstormer starter Aden Ryan took the loss.

With this win their fourth over the Barnstormers this season, London claims sole possession of second place in the IBL with an 11-5 record.

The London Majors have a busy Canada Day Weekend ahead of them, starting with a Friday night game at Labatt Park against the third place Guelph Royals, followed by a trip to Toronto on Sunday to face the Maple Leafs. The Majors will finish off the weekend on Canada Day when they welcome the Barrie Baycats. Monday game time is 6:05 followed by the annualCanada Day Fireworks display
