Majors Bats Stay Hot

The Majors were back at it in Welland today with newcomer Pedro De Los Santos taking the ball looking to match a great outing last night by Owen Boon.

Early on De Los Santos got in trouble getting the bases loaded in the bottom of the first and walked in a run for the Jackfish to take a 1-0 lead. Pedro would settle down after that, only allowing 5 hits over 7 innings before turning things over to Connor Ambrogio who pitched the final 2 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits.

The bats stayed hot scoring 16 runs vs the Jackfish. Byron Reichstein (2) and Cleveland Brownlee (1) both hit big home runs. For the first time this season the new outfielder Adam Filmon had a stolen base and went 2-4. Austin Wilkie also went 2-4 with 1 RBI and started his first start of the year as well. Chris McQueen who was batting leadoff went 3-6 with 2 RBIs as well today.

The next game is Sunday, July 11th at Labatt Park vs the Barrie Baycats. Tickets are on sale at the Majors store online.

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
