Majors Alumni Donates to Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame
The London Majors are once again proud of our alumni association after a $2,100 of raised funds to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. After young vandals damaged King Field with a large vehicle to tear up a portion of the outfield in early January, alumni president Barry Boughner reached out to over 130 members of the alumni association who raised most of the funds but also had a $500 donation from the London Oldtimers Sports Association.
Scott Crawford, the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s Director of Operations says that the donation from the Majors Alumni Association will go toward repairing King field along with making the site more secure as well.
Boughner and Alumni Association member Rick Corner delivered the donation in St. Marys last Friday to Scott Crawford.
To hear more about the donation you can listen to Barry on the radio with local radio legend Mike Stubbs: https://omny.fm/shows/london-live-with-mike-stubbs/london-majors-alumni-give-big-helping-hand-to-cana?fbclid=IwAR0lbOMxaTK152tFSRew89U--lw7dYHgBjy6dcLKeg5la5c4YH4QAq9SZeI
The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
