Local Outfielder Signs
The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of London native and H.B Beal graduate Andrew “Drew” Lawrence.
Drew, a 2003-born outfielder, spent time prior to joining the Majors with the Great Lake Canadians of the Canadian Premier Baseball League. He is no stranger to Majors broadcast duo Noah and Dylan who called some of his team’s games in 2020. Lawrence is able to play all three outfield spots, and this versatility makes him an asset to the 2022 team. Drew is a very athletic player and this athleticism separates him from the pack as he is an equally talented football player. In 2021 he spent time with the London Beefeaters Football Club of the CJFL. Drew was a member of the Canadian Junior National Baseball Team.
The local signing was asked about joining the Majors, “Growing up I attended lots of Majors games and got lots of autographs. I am very excited to start my playing career with my hometown Majors”
Another signing that Majors fans should be excited for, Roop Chanderdat was asked about the growth of the local talent on the roster “Andrew is athletic and has lots of upsides, I am looking forward to coaching Drew. He will give us some depth in the outfield."
The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. In 2021 the London Majors won the IBL Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
